Our New Mission & Aims

Why We Exist

Dorset Women CIC is a big-picture organisation collaborating with various groups to create a movement that, together, will implement the Dorset Women’s Charter. The Charter outlines the kind of society in which women, girls and gender diverse people should be able to expect to live – one that is free from sex or gender-based inequality, discrimination, or bias.

The Dorset Women’s Charter sets out 10 standards of public life that women, girls and gender diverse people in Dorset should be able to expect their representatives, decision makers, employers, policy makers and leaders to advocate for and uphold on their behalf.

These standards are based on evidence and focus on the solutions required to achieve them. Striving to achieve the standards set out in the charter and promoting the Dorset Women’s Charter Mark is Dorset Women CIC’s organisational strategy.

What We Stand For

We believe that when women, girls and gender diverse people experience inequality, bias, oppression and discrimination, EVERYONE is impacted and whole communities suffer.

We believe that all of Dorset will be stronger when women, girls and gender diverse people can truly thrive and reach their full potential.
