For #IWD2026, Take Action Without Adding to Your ‘To-Do’ List.

DORSET, UK – 8th March, 2026

The Reality: You see the headlines. You know the Gender Pay Gap isn’t closing fast enough. You see the rising costs of childcare and the “motherhood penalty” forcing talented women out of the workforce. You’re aware that Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) remains a systemic crisis that requires more than just “awareness” – it requires policy change and justice. You know that the persistent inequalities in women’s healthcare and the lack of representation in leadership make it feel like women’s rights are being rolled back under our noses.

The Conflict: You want to help. You want to protest, write to your MP, volunteer or attend events. But your life as a woman is hectic. We get it. You’re studying, working, parenting, caring, leading, queuing, fixing all at the same time. You are juggling a thousand plates. You care passionately, but you simply don’t have the hours in the day to be on the front lines.

The Solution: Dorset Women CIC is doing it for you.

Justice doesn’t just happen. It is built and must be funded. We are your voice in the rooms where decisions are made. We are the boots on the ground, tackling the systemic barriers that hold women and girls back in our county. When you can’t be there to complain, to educate, or to challenge the status quo – we are.

International Women’s Day: Rights, Equality, Action.

The UN Women’s theme for 2026 is Rights, Equality, Action for All Women and Girls. At Dorset Women CIC, we believe that “Action” doesn’t only have to fall to those with free time.

By joining our Regular Giving Campaign, you are taking direct action. You are ensuring that while you are busy managing your life, the fight for a fairer Dorset never stops. At Dorset Women CIC, we fight for rights and equality every single day, not just on March 8th.

The Dorset Women’s Charter sets out exactly what women should be able to expect from life in Dorset, and we won’t stop fighting on your behalf until the standards described within it are met. Because until ALL women and girls have equal rights and justice, none of us do.

Our 2026 Strategic Priorities:

Your regular contribution allows us to remain a consistent, fierce advocate. Here is where we are focusing our “Action” this year:

  • Closing the Women’s Health Gap: We are actively collaborating with healthcare commissioners and clinicians to dismantle systemic health inequalities, ensuring women’s symptoms are heard and their specific medical needs are prioritised.
  • Closing the Wealth Gap: We are working to remove the systemic barriers to wealth creation, financial independence, and career opportunities that still hold women in Dorset back.
  • Tackling Violence & Seeking Justice: We are campaigning for the eradication of men’s violence against women and advocating for a legal system that provides true, equal justice for survivors.
  • Leveling the Playing Field in Sport: We are working in partnership with local organisations to ensure gender equity in sport, from grassroots participation to professional representation.
